BloomDoc

Terms of Use

Last updated: 28 August 2026 · Operator: Schill Labs (Mike Schillereff)

By downloading or using BloomDoc you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app. Continuing past onboarding (including Skip) also means you agree.

The service

BloomDoc helps you identify plants from photos, review possible health issues, generate care suggestions, chat with an AI coach (“Leafy”), and receive on-device watering reminders. Features that call our backend require a network connection and an account (anonymous or email).

Identifications and care text are generated by software (including third-party AI). They can be wrong. Treat them as a starting point, not a guarantee.

Informational plant advice — not professional advice

Identifications, health scores, diagnoses, care plans, and chat answers are for general informational purposes only. They are not a substitute for a qualified horticulturist, agronomist, or veterinarian. Do not rely on BloomDoc as the sole basis for treating a valuable, rare, or toxic plant, or for decisions about pet or human safety. You remain responsible for how you care for your plants.

Accounts

You may use an anonymous account, add an email, or use Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for activity on your account. We may suspend access if we reasonably believe the app is being abused (for example, automated scraping of the AI endpoint). You must be 13 or older. Do not create an account for a child under 13.

Photos you upload

You keep rights in photos you take. You grant Schill Labs a limited license to process those photos solely to operate the features you request (scan, save, care plan, chat). Upload only photos you have the right to use. Saved photos are stored with a hard-to-guess URL; anyone with that URL can open the file.

Auto-renewable subscriptions

BloomDoc Premium is an auto-renewable subscription sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play. The subscription title is BloomDoc Premium. Product identifiers include plant_premium_weekly, plant_premium_monthly, and plant_premium_yearly.

Free tier

Without Premium, the app currently allows 5 scans per day (25 per month) and 10 Leafy messages per day (40 per month), as shown in the app. Limits are enforced on the server and may change. Care-plan generation after a scan is not separately capped.

Acceptable use

Do not upload illegal content, attempt to extract our prompts or keys, overload the service, or use BloomDoc to harm others.

Intellectual property

The BloomDoc name, brand mark, and app are owned by Schill Labs. You keep rights in photos you take, subject to the license above.

Disclaimer and liability

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. AI OUTPUT MAY BE INACCURATE. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SCHILL LABS AND MIKE SCHILLEREFF ARE NOT LIABLE FOR PLANT LOSS, PROPERTY DAMAGE, PET INJURY, LOST PROFITS, OR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM USE OF THE APP. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATING TO THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR PREMIUM IN THE THREE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR TEN US DOLLARS, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places our liability is limited to the minimum the law allows.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If a court must apply a particular state’s law, it is the law of the operator’s principal place of business. Courts in that place have exclusive venue, except that you may bring a claim in small-claims court in your county if the law allows.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. The date at the top will change.
